Tight lines to all fishing our second boat master angler competition this coming weekend…
The weather looks as if it will smile on us once again and after speaking with our skipper earlier in the week it seems fishing should again be top drawer with spur dogs having been making an appearance recently along with some cod on top of the species we encountered on our last trip…
We are departing from Spiddal for this trip at 09:00 see you all pier side ~ The Committee

Everyone in Galway Buccaneers SAC would like to extend our sincere condolences to Pat Walsh President of the IFSA and Secretary of the Connacht Provincial Council and Treasa Walsh Chairperson of the Connacht Provincial Council on the death of Pat’s brother Jimmy. Lord may your perpetual light shine upon him and may he rest in peace.

Congrats to Danny Sweeney on winning our first Boat Master Angler competition for 2012 with an impressive display. Danny got of to a good start building up a early lead with pollack which he maintained throughout the day. He continued to add a few different species and ended any chance of been of being caught with a lovely Thornback Ray anchored over sand on the last drop to win by 70pts . Thanks to skipper Kevin MacGabhann of Galway Bay Fishing and his crew for keeping us well refreshed with plenty of tea and coffee’s and ensuring we were on fish for the day with a good variety of fishing from drifting over reefs to anchored over rough ground, mixed ground and sand. Species included: Pollack, Coalfish, Poor Cod, Pouting, Haddock, Cuckoo Wrasse, Grey Gurnard, Dogfish, Thornback Ray, Launce & Mackerel – The Committee

Howdy Buccaneers, our 1st Boat MA is this coming weekend the 15th there are a set of rules and scoring system updated on the club forum we will be departing from the new marina in Rossaveal it’s a walk on walk off facility… we depart at 09:00 sharp so don’t be late – The Committee

Congrats to Alan Kelly on his 1st win on what proved to be a tough day at the office, with driving wind rain and some grassy weed which enveloped the baits, which made the task of trying to winkle out a few fish a difficult process… We’ve a little bit of break now until the next Shore MA so time to reorganise rig wallets and the like for the next assault – Tight lines from The Committee
